Township Day Program a success

The San Pedro High School Choir

The starlit evening and the handsomely dressed stage, welcomed the massive gathering to Central Park where the commencement of the annual Township program would take place. An almost punctual program began with the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Angel Nuñez, announcing the San Pedro High School Choir who performed a melodious rendition of the National Anthem. His Lordship, Mayor Alberto Nuñez then proceeded with his Township Day speech. His Worship ended by saying, "On behalf of the San Pedro Town Board, I would like to congratulate everyone that has contributed some way or the other in the development of San Pedro Town. Let us continue to work for an even better San Pedro. I would now like to invite you to enjoy the program that has been prepared for you. It is with this same spirit that I thank all those who have helped with dances, singing and poems. To all residents of San Pedro, I would like to wish you a Happy Township Day." The San Pedro High School Choir under the direction of music teacher, Mr. Tim Budd then delighted the crowd with three more selections, all of them breathtaking. The San Pedro Dance Company then made their debut with their smallest members taking the stage and dancing to the enchanting melody of "Little Ballerinas." A very receptive audience was entertained throughout the evening with dances by Barbara Alonzo's School of Dance who performed six hot selections. The junior and senior groups of San Pedro Dance Company also made their debut that evening. Also taking part in the celebration was Michelle's Dance Group from the Garifuna Council and the Fiji's Dance Group. Miss San Pedro, Norma Flota graced the stage with her beauty and charm during her address to the audience that evening. The overall, well organized program kept the audience looking forward to the next presentation. The evening was filled with excellent music, great dances, as well as tasty food.
