 
Press Release - February 10, 1998 - San Pedro Town Board - In 1996 Dr. Wilbur Lala loaned the San Pedro Town Board $87,000.00 for the construction of a road that would lead to the proposed marina. The first payment to Dr. Lala was scheduled for June 23, 1996, while the final payment should have been February 16, 1997. On March 12, 1997 when the new Town Board took office there was a balance due of $52,000.00 Through his generosity Dr. Lala had donated $10,000.00 which was deducted from the loan, towards purchasing a grader. The previous Town Board only paid $25,000.00 towards the loan. The present Town Board has now paid the balance of $52,000.00. Through this medium the Board would like to thank Dr. Lala for his kind donation of $10,000.00 and for his patience.
