September Celebrations program finalized for San Pedro
|
|
The San Pedro September Celebrations Committee met last week to plan what
they believe will be one of the biggest celebrations of the year. The
committee has put together a fun and educational programme of events
leading to the day of Belize's Independence on September 21st. The general
public is invited to take part in the celebrations. The program commences
on September 8th and is as follows:
September 8th - Belizean Educators will hold lectures for the students of
San Pedro elementary schools.
September 9th - High School Seminar
September 10th - St. George's Caye Day. Speech by Mayor, parade,
refreshments and goodies at Central Park.
September 11th - Barbara's Dance Group presentation at Central Park.
September 12th - Spelling Bee Contest for Standards IV, V and VI at the
Lions Den.
September 13th - Social Studies Contest for Standards II and III at the
Lions Den.
September 14th - Pre-school talent presentation at Central Park.
September 15th - Primary School presentation at Central Park.
September 16th - High School presentation at Central Park.
September 17th - No program.
September 18th - San Pedro Dance Company presentation.
September 19th - Miss San Pedro Pageant.
September 20th - Flag ceremony and fireworks.
September 21st - Independence Day. Crowning of Miss San Pedro, parade and
all-day jump-up.
