Many times we hear the phrase "Children are the future of our country" and I agree, but, after working with children for eight years at the pre-school level, I encourage you all to see our Belizean children as our "Today," as the present of our country.

Every year the Belize pre-school unit dedicates the month of March to pre-school children. We call it "Stimulation Month." Several activities can be enjoyed by San Pedranos along with our pre-school students during this time.

Stimulation month is designed in a way that allows the community to appreciate and learn about how pre-schools function and that they form the most important stage in the formation of a child's character and identity.

One of many activities that took place over the last two weeks in observation of Child Stimulation Month was Grandparents Day. On Grandparents Day, Wednesday, March 18th, 1998, the children of ABC Pre-School and their grandparents enjoyed a fun day together. They ate lunch and participated in fun activities. The month's activities will end with a parade through the streets of San Pedro on Friday, March 27th, 1998. All pre-schools will be participating. The parading schools will leave Central Park at 4:00 p.m. Come parade and celebrate with us. The ABC Pre-School invites you to view our world through the eyes of the child.
