Belize Weather Forecast: August 1, 2015

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Conditions will continue mostly dry today and then moisture will gradually increase tonight as a tropical wave approaches. A few showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, and then generally fair weather for the remainder of the next four days.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells today, accompained by isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms. Cloudy at times tonight with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mostly in the south.
Winds: East 10-20 knots.

OP Marty	From Belmopan... The NE air from Cuba is sort of predominant, but only causing small amounts of clashes with the easterly Caribbean wind. This has brought rain towards Corozal, but most dried up before it got there. There was a swell-up near PG that has and still causing some rain, south of PG. And there is more cloud out in the sea that just might bring more rain to Toledo, but only small chance of isolated rain in other parts of Belize. I expect mostly dry and sunny with white clouds, some chance of rain, mainly in the south. Temperatures in Belmopan: Today is probably going to be Similar, to yesterday : Fri, max 33°C 92°F Last night min 25°C 77°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )

OP Marty	From Belmopan... An interesting weather situation is now developing. There is an upper level low pressure trough as shown by the red line. Next image a tropical wave shown by the black line. The wind shear is relatively low just east of Belize. The tropical wave itself has a fairly large amplitude and actually contains a pair of waves close together. This system should begin to affect Belize late tonight and into tomorrow, Sunday. There could be some locally heavy thundershowers, mainly in the south as seen by the dark orange in the TPW image.
