Belize Weather Forecast: October 1, 2015

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Mainly fair conditions prevail over our area this morning; moisture and instability increases later today and tonight.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Sunny with cloudy spells this morning with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Skies will become cloudy with showers and thunderstorms increasing over inland and northern areas this afternoon, spreading to coastal areas later this evening and tonight.
Winds: West-northwest at 5-15 knots.
Marine Forecast:
Today: Winds: W-NW 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy.; waves: 3-4 ft.; isolated showers and isolated thunderstorm.
Tomorrow: Winds: W-NW 5-15 kt with higher gusts near heavy showers or thunderstorms.; seas: Choppy becmg rough at times *small craft caution* .; waves: 3-4 ft.; a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, decreasing.
Marine Outlook: Friday night:- Winds: W-NW 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy but locally rough at times *small craft caution* .; waves: 3-4 ft.; a few showers and thunderstorms.

General Outlook: Some cloudy spells with a few showers and thunderstorms mostly over the south Friday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will increase again over inland and northern areas Friday afternoon and move to coastal areas by Friday evening and night.

Tropical Weather Outlook: At 3:00am Hurricane Joaquin was centered near 23.4N latitude, 73.7W longitude or about 20mls North of Samana Cay in the Bahamas. Joaquin was moving to the WSW at 5mph with maximum sustained winds of 120mph. Also, an area of disturbed weather located about 600 miles Southeast of Bermuda has a medium chance of becoming a tropical depression during the next few days as its moves northwest to north.

OP Marty	From Belmopan... That Hurricane Joaquin is getting nasty, it is almost sitting on the Bahamas, must be causing them a lot of rain and damage at present, probably not high winds on land, but causing a lot of sea problems. We had one of the warmest nights of the year last night, no rain but dark clouds right now, winds from the North. Surface winds are from the West. There is cloud around, some coming down from the North, so we could get some rain. Odd weather today, can't be sure, but looks like cloud & sun, possibly some rain later, but west winds. Temperatures in Belmopan: Today is probably going to be Similar, to yesterday : Wed, max 33°C 92°F Last night min 27°C 80°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
