Swinging the bridge after dark. A rare picture of the old Belize City market lit up at night
This is a very beautiful picture. It shows the bridge being swung and the Old Fish Market with its light on.
The bridge was swung at 5:30 daily! Like clockwork! 5:30 a.m and 5:30 p.m. If you are going to matinee and you missed the bridge you would be very late, because the matinee at Palace Theatre used to start at 5:30 p.m.
Dennis Gelinas:
About 15 years ago they swung it early one morning, around 6 AM. They let me and a couple other people stay on for the ride.
