Beautiful Carrie Bow Caye during a strong windstorm
Blowing hard from the north the last 24 hours. Wet and cold. Charcoal grey skies above; dark silver seas below and a misty rain connecting the two. So when the sun momentarily breaks through the blanket of clouds, the world glows for that moment.
Located within the South Water Caye Marine Reserve, Carrie Bow Cay offers immediate access to seagrass habitats, mangrove ecosystems and even the reef. This tiny island is home to a field station that hosts researchers looking to take advantage of its ideal location.
