Most people (in the US anyway) don't even appreciate running water. Or electricity. I've lived in the mtns with no running water and no electricity for as much as ten years at a time. Hooked up a malamute to a sled that carried my daughter in a mile. Gave her a bath in a galvanized tub filled with melted ice sickles. Cut the wood around the cabin for heat....oil lamps for light...and I loved every minute of it. THEN, I'd jump in my 4wd and drive down the mtn. and go to work, and live in the cilivilized world for 8 hours.......! Now you know why I have a split personality! laugh
