Seashell..I really don't think Law and I are disagreeing on anything. We both feel the same need to right the wrongs, but choose to attack the wrongs in different ways.

I lost a best friend in Nam, as well as two other close friends. I supported the guys in Nam then, as I do our guys now in the middle east, although I didn't then and don't now support the cause. I lived just on the edge of Andrews Air Force Base, and am well aware of how scary it was then.

I refuse, however, to let these issues dictate how I embrace life. If you can't see the sweetness in life, when all you see is the bad and hateful and evil, then your life will used up without knowing the laughter and fun. Not to say that you don't have your share of fun, but will you remember it when you are old? I think you will mostly remember the efforts you made, whether successful or not,the problems and issues, and not too much of the good. I think the poor mortician will have a difficult time getting the frown off of your face. I say take time to smell a baby head, sip a too sweet drink, let a puppy lick your face. Count your blessings. I'm sure you all have plenty. Our memories are involved in what we consider to be blessings. I happen to think I was blessed with a childhood that helped me to become a good person, parent/grandparent and a empathetic nurse. Law, was blessed with a childhood that helped her become a good attorney with concern for those less fortunate than most, and I'm sure a good citizen.
This topic I'm sure wasn't meant to become a agree/disagree issue. I think it was meant to bring us to a happy place in our mind. I'm able to go there without letting go of reality. Hope you are, too.
