We are planning a return trip to AC and tenatively have planned around the first of March. I was wondering, though, about "spring breakers" being there "in force" at that time. Does AC get that many "breakers" or are we relative "safe" from the hoards?

An island local told me that it does get a little busier during spring break, but its certainly not like Cancun or anything like that.

I think Spring break is also the last week of March throughout the 1st two weeks of April, depending on different schools, so you should be fine going @ the beginning of March.

Actually we are bringing a bunch from Texas and Kentucky March 12 thru 19. Spring Break will apparently be spread over a month or more. Kkins is right, it is nowhere like the scene in Cancun.

Most of the spring break crowd that we get here is pretty harmless compared to Cancun and stateside locations (think of the bohemian college student rather that frat boy.) You can spot them lounging on the beach and around the pools but they behave themselves. I'm sure that the pot dealers do a swift business during the month however.
