The sardines are running right now. That close to shore there isn't much else. Maybe some mullet. That is just bait fish. Right now, they are catching lots of sardines! They are fully grown!

It's all the bait fish running close in that fisherman love to capture, PERIOD>.The fisherman and fisherwomen depend on bait fish at certain times to use as leweres?sp? to find bigger and greater fish.,this is their bait..When you can get a great haul of bait, you are garanteed to have a great season, IMHO..

Rykat, you're right. I should re-phrase 5 as I know several guides that have built their own reefs and would be none too happy to find another guide fishing their work.

5)Real guides don't cheat and fish other people's artificial reefs.

Tourists fishing should get their moneys worth and fish the reef, not docks where all the boats pull up with engines running & fuel vapors.
I know the price of gasoline is high - but not leaving the docks is just wrong! IMO
Sorry for your troubles.
Maybe you need a new sign that states
"If your guide has you fishing here - get a better fishing guide!"
or "Not one good fishing guide would let you fish here!" or "This dock is for boats & people not fishing - all good guides know this!"
Catch my drift? I'm sure lots of people could help with new words for your sign - just ask!
Belize it!
