Happy Anniversary early wyowind and to your partner in life as well! You may want to check out the lodging page first or state what your "wants and needs" may be. Price range, North, South, pool, nightlife, kitchen, bla bla bla. The post what places look interesting to you and all here will be happy to give their opinions!

denverdan's suggestion is on the mark. No high rises to speak of in San Pedro. My personal favorite is Banana Beach. One of the best beaches on the island, 2 great pools, a full breakfast daily is included in the deal, great bar and restaurant on site, the staff is great, they can set you up with excursions, trips whatever, even the rooms w/o kitchens have a fridge and a coffee pot and all the rooms have A/C. It's about a 20 minute walk from town where all the action is, so close enough to get there but far enough to have some distance. The owner's a little odd, but you can usually avoid him. (Just kidding Tim, you know I love you! )
