I think you'll get the most sound advice and referals at Evas. And make suer your guide is licensed. Some of the characters out on the streets hussling trips aren't necessarily nice characters.

My experience with Eva's was not all that wonderful. The fellow there who received my e-mails assured me that after I arrived in Belize on the fourth of January, he would arrange a trip to see Caracol.

The idiot actually arranged a trip for that particular day, and talked people who could have waited into doing it then, presuming that I would magically appear there in the morning of the day of my afternoon arrival in Belize.

Then after that trip had had such a time with the awfully maintained road, he didn't want to repeat it on a day when I could actually go. I won't deal with Eva's again and haven't.

so did you go to Belize after all...and what was it like? where did you stay in the end-- any recommendations now you have been there? I am intrested as like you I want jungle surroundings! let me know please
