Thought I would share with you how I search for good deals on airfares.

1. ASK AROUND - I ask around what the regular fare is for my travel month (I usually ask here or other forums smile

2. FAREWATCHER - I use the farewatcher in Travelocity.

3. SIDESTEP.COM - As soon as I found a good deal from the farewatcher, I go to www.sidestep.com to search for better deals. Sidestep is a travel search engine, not an online travel agency and it searches the airlines' websites too eliminating any travel agency fees. It is also good in searching alternate airports compared to travelocity & expedia.

4. BUY IT - If I think the price is good enough based on what people told me when I asked around for what the usual fares are.

Anyone also care to share how they get good deals? Thanks!

try Kayak.com too - little better searcht han Sidestep me thinks.

Hate Travelocity - they load little ugly things on your 'puter, if ya aren't watching.

Also, be sure to regularly clean out your cookies - some travel sites won't give ya best fare when you frequent their sites (incl some airlines)...the cookie tells 'em if u been there before and cheaper flights don't always show.

I have never found cheaper flights than those offered by http://www.cheapticketscanada.com/

I always buy at least 3 months in advance and get a great deal...January 2006 $630CAD on US Airways from Toronto.
