Most americans were taught in school that socialism was just one step away from communism. So , if you didn't bother to find out it was not true, then you would not really know that BELIZE is also a socialist country. For all the ones ,that want to hurry and sell before your friends find out you live in asocialist country , let me know..

Sorry John, Belize is anything BUT a socialist country. Trust me, I grew up in one...

So Bolivia will need Petrobras, the Brazilian energy giant, to expand its investments."

We will see if another socialist country (brazil) is willing to curtail their profits (and tax base for Brazil) for the sake of Bolivians......and then invest more capital!
You will just have to study up , that socialism not only works, but can excel. As in this EDF.http://www.edf.fr/1i/Accueilfr.html
Just look below a little at the yellow map.

Gee, every person has health coverage in europe, that's like giving everyone a blanket. And it's less likely that someone will try and take yours because of it.

The tens of thousands that work at EDF are all government workers. BUT !!!! They go on strike anytime the government talks about selling. You will never read that from AP. Besides as a former freight broker , i know the same product can change hands four or five times ,before the product makes it to its destination. This is what chavez has cut. It has upset the brokers of oil, the brokers of boats, the brokers of storage, and so on.

The ten new EU country's are no different. They just have a lot of help, and belize does not. You must count the low population and large land mass. Infrastucture ,belize will never afford....
You must of grew up in the UK, The pound has been propping up the dollar for a long time. Imagine what the euro and the dollar would be if the UK actually joined the EU , instead of the sidelines..

The single most important thing in a government is : For the people. Yet , France is the only country that i know, that can quickly make its government listen, by forcing it to its knee's.

Besides the 3 day transit strike of just one city in theUSA, the last time was when ronnie raygun fired all the air traffic controllers. That was a long time ago sheeple !!

John,
Actually grew up in one of the few well functioning (semi)-socialist (very far from communist) parts of the world, Scandinavia in the 60's and 70's. Wasn't bad at all.
But... Please give me one example that will categorize Belize as a socialist country?
