I have been reading this board for a couple months now and have learned a lot and wanted to thank you guys first.

I will be moving to belize starting in May for 2 years. I will be attending medical school(Medical University of the Americas-MUA) and I will be looking for a place a mile or two south of town and was wondering if any of you guys know if there is a gym(besides oscars way up north) boxing or martial arts school?

I am so excited to move down there(im coming from NY) being that Im such a beach bum and would hopefully make my stay there more tolerable being that i will be at school most of the time during the week. Thanks to you guys I know where all the good bars are so i can keep sane

The new tennis club is S of town and has a large gym. No boxing that I am aware of. I think there is a martial arts place but can't remember where I saw it.

The new tennis club also has a very nice pool-big too. The gym is equipped with good, new equipment.

Hey man, I dont know about a gym, but nothing beats an early morning jog right as the sun begins to rise out on the sea wall, its great. Nothing like it, perfect. Good luck with school.

The tennis club has a gym and is located 1/2 mile south of town on the west side. It's prices are higher than Oscar's but the equipment is newer. I myself go to Oscar's because it has the equipment I'm looking for and is a total gym. I checked out the tennis club gym and it wasn't for me, but I do know somebody that gets very good workouts there.

There isn't a martial arts place that I know of. I did see a sign that says martial arts, but at closer viewing proved to be accupuncture or massage, etc...

I am from NY also.Congrats on going to Med school.Funny you should mention martial arts.I study Ba gua(pa kua) chang kung fu here in NYC.Sifu Park is my instructor.you can check out www.pa-kua.com.Anyway,I have recently been contemplating moving to San Pedro(I'm "coolcat" asking about moving to San Pedro).I was just emaiing a friend who lives there,Tim Jeffers who runs Banana Beach,about a possible place to practice/teach martial arts.It is hard to find a place with decent sq footage and wooden floors.We'll see.What martial arts interest you or have you been practicing?
