I'm planing on flying in to either Guat. City or Flores and taking a bus to Belize City. I want to visit Tikal, and am not sure if I want to stop between Guat. City and Tikal. Any recommendations on must see's between Guatemala City and Flores? I understand it's a 14 hour bus trip, not sure if I want to do it or just fly into Flores? I've seen info on Semuc Champey, maybe an in between stop? Any recommendations? I'm planning bus trips and stays in hostels or guest houses. Cheap is the name...

You can fly to Flores from Guat City for $60 US on Tikal Air

if you take the 9pm bus out of guatemala city-flores, you get to flores at 5:30am, flores has a lot of hustels, there will be cabbies all over you, just tell them whats your price range for the room you want. in flores, there are a lot of tikal trip bookings in the little shops, they are everwhere, you'll see them, we took like 45 minutes from tikal to flores, there is a 50q fee at the gate. coming to caye caulker-the "linea dorado" bus leaves flores 6:00am. it gets to belize 11:30am. when you get to belize there will be taxi guys outside the bus. just tell them water taxi terminal. you could get the 1:30pm bus at be in caye caulker by 2:30. by 3:30pm you could be drunk by the teach
