Was watching Headlines News a little bit ago and they were naming some warm destinations. Mentioned Mata Chica and gave it pretty good press. Showed new pictures. Looks nice!!

I was going to post about this too. smile Did you notice how the Travel and Leisure Magazine gal emphasized that Ambergris Caye has NO cars and only bikes and golf carts?

Mata Chica did look lovely.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

I did notice they said that... well, in our (perfect) AC, that would be the truth.

Well there are only bikes and golf carts in the Mata Chica area of the island and many parts of the caye has no traffic whatsoever.

There are some very cool maya ruins on the caye that you can only visit by foot - you need to be fit and handy with a machete. We have wild deer, pigs, foxes etc.

How many people have seen that part of Ambergris Caye?

Unfortunately traffic is a part of progress - but if you are adventurous enough you can leave that all behind and get back to nature easily on this caye.
