I am moving with my job to Ambergris Caye for 6mnths this fall. I have never been but have lived practically everywhere else in Central America, so I'm not too concerned about the little surprises Belize may offer! Quick question - what "essentials" should I plan on bringing? From the previous posts, is it worth bringing in as much non-perishable food/booze or should I just try and find the local grocery store and save the hassle? How about linens? I only ask this because Belize seems to be at least twice as expensive as Costa Rica, Panama etc.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Elbert - Actually getting called in by a hotel in the area to help fine tune marketing etc. I jumped at the chance to see Belize in this way. Ever since I first learned of Belize back in the day it always kind of intrigued me - looking forward to trying Belikin!
