Growing up with Florida Keys fisher parents I ate many sea fish but never barracuda. Was introduced to grilled barracuda at a snorkel/beach barbecue trip a couple of years ago on AC. It was cooked over open fire within an hour of being caught. At first I was nervous, but smelled the delicious grilling smells and ate the fish. And it was good. Really really good. Also, the local guides explained about the ciguatera not being an issue in Belize. And did I mention it was really good?

What's the deal with raw oysters, love em', but they can melt your spine? Is that true?

Most people would not know the difference anyway. Eat fresh,is my best advice and dont worry.

No offense to Bruce, but if he's actually managed to get Ciguatera twice, and still eats Barracuda, is he the guy to ask??
