Does anyone know if underwater photography is taught anywhere on AC? I would like to take a course but it is to cold here in the North East waters. I am looking to do it in April 08.

Elbert is even good underwater!
Do you have a camera? Housing? How long have you been a certified diver? How's your bouyancy control?
What do you already know.

My problem is a novice diver and bouyancy is a work in progress. I have the sea and sea 6mp with the flash extension housing. I have only been certified for a year and my dives have been in Lake winnapasaukee in NH and Belize. Can't handle the cold water and 6+mm suit that New England oceans require.

&nbsp Hi Suecate,
I think yu'll find that photography makes you a better diver. You quit worrying about your bouyancy and other details and start looking for subjects. There are some great photo opportunities in Belize, both topside and underwater.

&nbsp When will you be on island? I will be in San Pedro Town the first few days of December. I can't certify you, but I can help you develop your eye. Photography is all about vision, which means that you have to develop your ability to find subjects. That's what makes photography unique, you have to find subjects. If you're a painter, for example, you can say "I'll just add a tree right here and make the sky a little more dramatic". In photography, you have to have an eye for the subjects that are actually there. There's very little "artistic license" to edit your subject. It has to be there.

&nbsp Anyway, if you're going to be around, that's cool. I'll be staying at Changes in Lattitude Sunday-Monday December 3 & 4. I'm hoping to meet Harriet and maybe have some barbeque at BC's on Sunday. Maybe I'll see you there.

&nbsp &nbsp Dan
