From my research, it looks like there are 3 internet cafes on the island. Does anyone know if any of these provide Skype access (phone calls) or if they provide wireless "hotspots" where I could use my laptop instead of their computers? Won't bring my laptop if they don't allow me to connect it, but I might need to make a VOIP phone call. Thanks for your help!

often voip is blocked by btl, the local isp. there is wireless at the internet cafes, for sure coconet. also estels restaurant has wireless. great breakfast spot

Try downloading Hotspot Shield before you come. It creates a VPN that allows SKYPE to work. Most of the internet cafes let you hookup your laptop.
