Eleven of the last 20 topics in this forum have nothing to do with Belize. Who is to say which should and should not be included in a "chat" forum? Or on the other hand, why should one not directly related to Belize be off limits and others not?

PS: since this is not a "democratic" board, what is the position of our benevolet dictator?

The problem is this: what is offensive to some is not to others: it is completely subjective. I am an advocate of freedom of speech and expression. But, the decision is not up to me, so whatever the powers that be on this board decide will have to do. Does that mean the board is policed 24/7 and how do you determine if someone crosses that fine line?

i ain't gonna say how i voted. i will say this. politics is not polite to speak about at the dinner table. just like pornography or excretions. tho i do occasionally stray from my best intentions.

Then that begs the question, is the subject of US politics inheritly offensive, or is what is being said the determining factor as to if it is offensive?

i have been intensively political in my life, but i came to the realization you can never change anyones mind. so why beat them over the head? find another subject to talk about.

Again - who cares. This forum is like bad television sometimes. I can't seem to pull myself away off of stupid topics even though it's Monday and I'm drowing in work. If people get butt-hurt over mis-reading something, or if someone is incapable of injecting a reasonable opinion without being rude and offensive, then maybe they should leave the commenting to others and stew in silence. People need to take responsibilty for themselves and their comments, which goes for any fancy comebacks or zingers that one may feel necessary to interject. I would love to see a poll of our ages. I swear we're a bunch of 6 year olds. I'm tired of type-writer tough-guys and boring debates that mean nothing. What kind of message does this send to new comers looking for quality information on Belize? That we like censorship or that so and so on the island is such and such. Move on.
