Anyone know when those famous Tropic Air flights to Flores are actually going to resume?

They've been suspended since November 2007.

First Tropic made a big announcement that flights were going to resume flights July 1.

Then they said maybe July 15.

And still no flights.

They do show it on their schedule for rates. Interesting. Maybe later in the season when there are more tourists?

According to their reservations department, "not until further notice"....

A representative of Tropic Air emailed me that Tropic has been waiting for written approval from Guatemala.

He said that Tropic has been assured that the Guatemala Director of Civil Aviation has now approved the flights and that Tropic should receive written confirmation soon, perhaps by today (Tuesday) or Wednesday.

But I guess nothing is certain until the actual written approval is received.

Tropic Air is authorized by the Guate DGCA in writing to resume flts to Flores, Peten (Tikal) as of today, 7/5/08.
