During the last two trips to AC, I have had to really hunt for a good rum punch. During the first visits to AC, you could get off Tropic, head thru the hotel to Blue Water and have one of the best Rum Punches on the island. Since the tall bartender is no longer there (I don't remember his name) I have had to search for another place to imbibe. I finally found one in June, the Patio restaurant.
Can any of you that just returned or that live there recommend another watering hole for my taste buds to call home? If they serve the rum from that little green bottle with the obscure label, forget it. I used it to clean the grease off the outboard last time down.

Banana Beach has the best rum punch on the Island - especially if Roxie is making 'em!

I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?

Have you actually sampled each and every establishments Rum Punch as made by each bartender, and then made an objective decision or is this a blatant display of partisanship based on your preconcieved ideas of what you would like the result to be?

Just wondered, as I'm sure I'll see you back on a political thread in a while, and I want to make sure the rules haven't changed smile

Thanks LA and Ida, I will revisit BC and make a point to get to BB.
Pug, I took one half day with the mission of finding a new home for my Rum Punch addiction. I visited every known and sometimes not so known pubs between BC and north to Mata Chica. I did not go south towards BB as I was a little concerned with my night vision (or any vision) when I reached Mata Chica.
I did find two places that have extremely cold Belikins, Cholos and a bar half way down the street on the left going towards the Sunset Grill across from the open field. It may have been purple on the outside.
Thanks to Oswald at Mata Chica to tie a note on my arm and call the water taxi.
My research yielded two important facts: Don't forget your flashlight and remember which foot you are supposed to keep in the water.

Keep up the hunt and let us know where you end up. It's always good to hear about favorite haunts. I also would usually drink Bellikin, but a fun fruity drink or a good rum punch is a nice change of pace.

The Mango Tango's at Rasta Paradise on Caye Caulker are great and with 2-1 happy hour from 4-6 if there's a bunch of you its worth the detour after an afternoon at Hol Chan, or a stop over for 2 hours on the water taxi trip across from Belize City

I've never been down that far south. Is it cart-able? A place called Rasta Paradise I've got to check out!

nah, pug, I skipped a couple - I think they were the ones where you were rumored to be present

How fortunate that some can tell the difference between opinion and fact without requiring the use of those specific words.

bushdoctor - that sounds like a quest I could get into! Happy hunting! smile
