I wasn't sure if I should post this in the Classifieds or here (so mods feel free to move if you need to).

If you need an iPhone unlocked email me. I am now unlocking 2G and 3G iPhones. With the unlock I am also jailbreaking the phone which allows you to install free and "pay for" applications. Also, if you are looking for an iPhone I will have a new condition 2G for sale near the end of next month.

Thanks

The iphone works as a phone anywhere in Belize if unlocked. It also has wifi capabilities which means that if you have wifi at your house, you have internet on the phone. You can setup your email accounts on the phone as well as surf the web and a plethora of other utilities. With so many wifi points on the island, by the time I get home I usually have all of my emails on the phone just from passing hotels and unlocked wifi spots that the phone will detect and connect to. You can also get a phone plan with data included from BTL. The only thing is that BTL runs on a very slow GPRS network, so if you have a GSM/GPRS device, including 2G or 3G they will operate at very slow speeds, 9.6kbs max...2G meaning second generation aka digital, and 3G the latest and greatest. But when it comes to the iPhone, the 3G and 2G have the same functions. You would only notice a difference on more modern networks like in the States or EU.

If you are software unlocking - just make sure you are warning customers about re-locking their phones by inadvertently allowing iTunes to upgrade it. This is the only problem with iPhones - with every new firmware upgrade from Apple, you need to unlock it again.

Yeah I explain things in more detail when I talk to them. I just didn't want to write an essay about unlocking iPhones on the forum....I like to keep posts short and sweet. Normally if for some reason they lock their phone we'll help them out a second time...

I'm in England and considering getting an iPhone to bring back with me. What do you charge to unlock it?

I have heard that once you unlock the phone, any time you upgrade, apple shuts you down and iphones are a big pain in the a** if you unlock generally. I love my mac but apple really wants to you to use their specific services like international callling

Pam,

This is true if you upgrade the iphone using iTunes. There are other ways to upgrade the firmware/baseband on the phone. But to be truly honest, once the phone is unlocked there is really no reason to upgrade it since you can install hundreds of apps directly to the phone without iTunes/Apple's help.
