I just looked at TACA............ Houston/ Bze you must travel thru San Salvador. Same on the return, that sucks

My kids didn't go through San Salvador during their flights this summer. Houston directly to Belize and from Belize directly to Houston on TACA.

I have used TACA several time and never had that routing either.

Going through San Salvador isn't bad at all. Small airport with great duty free shopping. I've done it several times. Short connections and I've never had a delay.

For me, it turns a 2 hour trip in to a 7 hour trip, plus, a layover in Bze.

I guess it's a more attractive option if you are starting on the left coast.

Huuummmm, If I went Las Vegas to Houston on Southwest then Houston to Belize on TACA I could get the cost down to just over $500 round trip. Still expensive but may be doable!!

If you fly Southwest to Houston, you would go into Houston Hobby airport, about 40 miles from IAH and a heafty cab ride.
