We are visiting Placencia Village for the month of January. We have been to Placencia 3 years ago. What's new? Stupid question, but is lobster in season in Jan? What are the hours of the fish market? In CC we could get beer delivered to our house. Is that possible in Placencia? Where is the best place to buy beer? Are there 'off the beaten track' activities - other than the more common - diving, fishing etc that we should consider? Is there a interesting location that one could snorkel off the beach in Placencia? Can't wait to return!! We love Placencia.

lobster season ends feb 14th.
the coop (fish market) is open during regular business hours,, usually. there is also a fish store on the sidewalk called c-food.
beer delivery is do-able. i believe there is a 2 crate minimum. talk to Wallens (ace hardware)
you can rent a car and do several 'off the track' trips. a few waterfalls nearby, and just exploring is fun to me.
i wouldn't recommend any snorkeling off placencia itself. further north at false caye is very good but not from placencia.

Yes, one way rentals but a drop off fee of over 200.00. And they charge a bad road fee too.

The stretch from BM to the Southern was actually pretty okay last Sunday. Returning today and will see how it is. I made it from mile 8 on the Placencia road to Dangriga in less than an hr, using my own vehicle I care for.

So how are the mileage postings figured? Is it 8 miles from from that post on the Placencia road to the Southern Highway intersection?

I've already told you more than I know.
