The San Pedro Sun teams up with Oceana for International Clean up Day! On Saturday, September 29th, from 8AM to 12 noon, volunteers will join forces with other groups from around the world in an effort to clean up their patch of earth. In San Pedro Town, The San Pedro Sun has teamed up with Oceana to organize a beach cleanup starting from Boca del Rio southwards. With the combined efforts of the San Pedro Leos Club, the San Pedro Town Council and of course, the always appreciated volunteers, we will be cleaning up the beach, keeping track of data (what sort of trash is being picked up) and making a difference on La Isla Bonita. To volunteer, please call our office at 226-2070, send an email to [email protected] or just meet us at the Boca del Rio Park tomorrow morning at 8AM!

No question, NAVY.. it will not show any smudges or dirt as quickly as the white. Have fun and thanks for doing this. cool

You guys deciding what to wear? Did you actually show up and clean? I hope so. If you did , well wasnt it a great feeling. All those young Belizeans learning not to toss off trash, and they were so proud. If you did not then you are just making a joke of a very serious problem here. I cleaned on Caye Caulker, but thanks to everyone everywhere that helped..it was great..I have always respected the fact that I am living in a country that belongs to other people, I help whenever I can, I find it upsetting anyone would make a joke of saving the enviorment...
Not so much on Caye Caulker, but San Pedro has folks that just dont care, only because you guys have so many more people..I cant believe you guys actually posted what you did.
We had 50 people that picked 60 bags of trash, I am sure San Pedros numbers were much higher,,,
Gaitor...yes we had fun and your welcome....

Cooper - no need to chastise. Brussell Sprout is SanPedro Scoop blogger and she's very environmentally conscious, supports all things San Pedro AND Belize...and especially cares about the future generations. Check out her blog for all the scoop on AC and CC and other parts of Belize, Central America and Mexico. The day was a success, to be sure.
