I'll second the emotion - contact Judy about BUPA. I spent weeks researching various health policies. Some policies are much less money BUT the coverage is far from adequate. Example IMG have policies that are $1,500 - $2,000 but they don't provide coverage if you're injured scuba diving below 50 ft., if you get hurt windsurfing, kiteboarding any organized sport (what??)and many other exemptions. If you fall getting out of bed you're likely okay for coverage but hopefully there's not a pre-existing condition..
I initially started looking at BUPA but thought it was too much $$. Then I spent time researching various other policies - even tried adding additional coverage via side policy for sports but still there was only coverage for up to $25,000 (max). I came back to BUPA because it appears to provide real coverage for all of life's adventures and misadventures. BTW - BUPA is less expensive if you don't need coverage in the US and/or Canada or want to be rushed to US or Canada in the event of an emergency.
My current experience is that doctor visits locally in San Pedro ranges from $20 to $40 (depending on doc) and basic issues are easily resolved. BUPA would be more for if something more complex occurs. BTW - BUPA will request medical records with your application and be prepared to answer questions and possibly pay more for pre-existing conditions. Hope this help.
