The San Pedro Police Department (SPPD), along with the San Pedro Town Council and other stakeholders are in the beginning stage of negotiating a much-needed addition to La Isla Bonita's beaches. The plan proposes installing solar lights along our shores, providing adequate lighting for all pedestrians.

The town board has vowed to install the first ten solar lights on the beachside and in our plan, we will place lights up by San Telmo Area," said Henry Jemmott.

The SPPD has opted for solar lighting over standard for several reasons. Solar light is generated by capturing the sun's energy. While installing such lights will initially cost more at the beginning, when comparing the costs of cables, installation, metering equipment, and construction for regular lighting, solar energy is more cost-efficient in the long run. Needless to say, not having electric bills is an added bonus.

Wonderful idea.
After the powers.....
1. Clean the drunks off of the beach in front of the cemetary.
2. Get rid of the all the crooked cops (or is that too ingrained in "normalcy"?)
3. Do something about all the golf carts.
4. Spend more time and $$ on fighting the drug trade.

I'm sure this list is not complete.

Meanwhile, ..... sure, lights on the beaches are cute.

Everybody coming to San Pedro is to bring a six pack of solar lights from their favorite garden center.

What's with the sarcasm. Over the years several people have been attacked in dark patches long the beach. Some died. This is a very positive move.

So, it's unreasonable to expect the unflinchingly honest and responsive Boys In Blue to patrol the beaches.....or are they too busy doing ......"other things"?
