A Belizean woman has been killed in the U.S. She is thirty-five-year-old Jacqueline Dawson. She is from San Pedro Town and died on Sunday. Dawson lost her life in a traffic accident in Wilmington, North Carolina. Online reports state that Dawson was driving a white Acura when a County Waste truck t-boned her vehicle. As a result of the impact, her vehicle was pushed into another lane causing her to collide into a Honda SUV. Both vehicles careened off the highway and into a ditch. Dawson was rushed to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center where she died while receiving treatment. The incident was reported as breaking news by W.E.C.T. Six News on Sunday.

Jackie was a beautiful person. She and I went to school together. As with everyone she experienced many highs and lows in life. When she moved to the states she became a pediatric nurse and dedicated mother and wife. Despite living away from the island she is a true San Pedrana who maintained close ties to the community. She will be sadly missed.
