Are there ocean kayaking trips from AC? We have enjoyed ocean kayaking and river kayaking on vacations in the past, but I've had difficulty finding info on these tours in Belize. Most companies seem to focus on snorkeling and diving. Any advice? Is it worth doing? Thanks.

Several resorts have them, or sometimes you can rent them in town. But thats for around the island, i'm not sure if thats what you are looking for...

might check with Slickrock Adventures, [email protected] , http://www.slickrock.com/

they are not on Ambergris Caye, but they specialize in kayaking.

We went on a half-day kayak around the lagoon with Seaduced a few years ago. It was a delightful trip with a knowledgeable guide.

I would suggest you email Seaduced at [email protected] to see if they still offer this. We had a great time.

Xanadu Resort has kayaks; they may have info on routes or tours. Seaduced is great tour company. Happy venture...

Kayaking around the entire island would be quite a trip, if that's what you mean. I'm not sure. It's about20-25 miles long, I think. But just tooling around inside the reef is excellent fun. Hubby and I did that both times we went to AC, and one day even went snorkeling off our kayak. You can rent a kayak for half or full day. Or you can go with a guided tour, I guess. Watch out for the reef and fast boats zipping by.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We'll contact Seaduced about the possibility of a guided tour and otherwise just cruise around a bit by ourselves. Thanks again.
