Embassy of Mexico rewards Belizean children
The Embassy of Mexico informs that on 22 January, Belizean children received certificates for taking part in the 12th Children’s Drawing Contest “Este es mi México”.
This yearly contest is open to children from 7 to 11 years old, of any nationality living outside Mexico. The purpose of the contest is to encourage children to express what Mexico means to them: its history, culture, landscapes, people, art, architecture, colors, aromas, tastes, or holidays. According to the contest’s rules, all participants receive a certificate of recognition from the government of Mexico.
The Ambassador of Mexico to Belize, Luis Manuel López-Moreno, delivered the key address at the ceremony and handed the certificates to the Belizean children who participated. The event was held at the Institute of Mexico in Belize, in Belize City.
The Contest is organized every year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, through the Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior.
