Crocodile covered in ants

He growled at me like a dog giving warning. I put about 6 feet of distance between he and i when he growled so i backed up a few feet.He is sure covered in ants. ?? Any one know anything about ants and crocks? They seem to be crawling in his mouth and nose.
When i first saw this in Maskall I thought it was in trouble but it seemed to be bathing in ants intentionally. could be this guy is just getting a cleaning.he closed a sheild over his eyes untill i got to close then closed it again after a warning growl.

I showed the pic to a local fisherman and he said that he has observed this behavior before and he notes that they do indeed seem to dig their nests close to ant sites (or the ants move in when a nest is dug.)
