Two bolts of lightning in the valley
Sometimes an image is special to the photographer. Maybe because of the timing - holding the shutter open long enough to catch not one, but two bolts of lightning. Maybe because of the location - a common place easily accessible, yet overlooked and ignored as a place of beauty. Maybe because of the feeling while pressing the shutter release - the adrenaline rush following the BOOM of the bolts, the flash of light, the nearness of the power of nature. Maybe because of the assault on all your senses - the faint smell of burn with citrus blossoms, the gentle caress of mist and breeze, the loud crack of thunder; the bright flash of light; the taste of ozone in the air. Or maybe, just maybe the image represents how fleeting special moments are in life, how everything has to align perfectly for special moments to occur, how few and far between these special moments are ... before they are gone forever except in our memory, and a special image.
