Tupac, MC Hammer, and Snoop Dog on Ambergris Caye, long ago
In the early 1990’s the late rapper Tupac, Snoop Dogg, MC Hammer (and he is wearing Hammer pants!) and Suge Knight vacationed in San Pedro.
Snoop, Tupac, MC Hammer and Suge managed to make a big impact on the island residents as they interacted with the people, hung out at local restaurants and bars, walked down the streets like they were locals and even enjoyed a few games of basketball with the local boys at Central Park.
Kay Scott:
Shug Knight was there. He was their manager. Was wearing the biggest ring I ever saw in my life!
Caribe Forman:
They stayed at the Royal Palms Resort. Missing from that pic are also Warren G and Lady Rage (hit single “Afro Puffs”), who were also in town at that time. Tupac spent a lot of one on one time with a lucky lovely local lady that trip.
Marsha Muller: They hung at Mata Rocks and drove a golf cart through town and threw money to kids, I thought that was a bit tacky. I went to Mata Rocks, unbeknown to me I just went to the bar and ordered a beer. Many locals were kind of hanging around the periphery. I had to ask Chirlene what the deal was. She told me, Tupac etc all were there. Wow, was in the presents of greatness and didnt know it. Angela Gegg knew some of them from N.Y. City.
Kimberly Gonzalez:
Karim said he was 9 yrs old and he's now 33. He was chasing them all over the island. At the time, I had no idea who they were. I saw an interview that Snoop did and he was asked what was his most frightening experience. He told the story of those guys going parasailing here.
Linda Carter: His girlfriend was gorgeous!
