Aerial view, Cara Blanca Pools
Hector Silva: These natural pools in Belize are where divers have found offerings from ancient Mayas. It is reported that divers have now found what no one else thought existed in those water holes, known as "Cara Blanca" (white face). The name was supposedly given because of the reflection of some white cliffs on the surface of the water. It has been reported that in the depths of these cenotes or lagoons deposits of fossilized remains have been found of pre-historic animals and also human artifacts. Divers have to be very careful, for it is believed that some of these deep pools might have underground connections or deep sink holes sedimented.
