Female orb weaver spider, Micrathena sp.
Wait a little minute.. that is ALL spider??? What is that other pregnant thorny looking appendage?
ALL spider. There are definitely some cool spiders out there but sometimes they are small and you have to get CLOSE to see the details.
In this type of spider, females are the only ones who build webs. Also males are quite a bit smaller. They come in all different colors, mine tend to be black and white.
