Premier George C. Price visits the Maya village of Cristo Rey, Corozal District in 1973. Greeted by the Cristo Rey village council under the chairmanship of Mr. Eustaquio Yam accompanied by area representative for Corozal North, Santiago Ricalde. Today Cristo Rey is one of the few Villages of northern Belize where Maya Yucatec is still spoken.

Santiago Ricalde, and Chairman of the Cristo Rey Village Council, the late Mr Eustaquio Yam. Standing, Mr. Fred Pena. This was the Village Council Committee back then. KUL EEX IS THE MAYA word for short pants; pantalon corto, in Spanish. Note the short pants used by the Inspector of Police back then.
