Chachalacas (Ortalis vetula) seeking cover in the rain
I don't get this close to the Chachalaca (Ortalis vetula) often. These are waiting out a hard rain under a tree and I'm lucky to be doing the same close by. The female is in the middle but males and females are hard to distinguish, unless shes showing some ruffled rump feathers to a male. The one on the left may also be female. She later also showed the one on the right some fluff.
