Looking down from a hilltop into the town of Dolores in Toledo, mid 1990's
Taken back before the roads. It was a 3 hour hike on a muddy trail, or helicopter. Very close to the border by the Sarstoon River. Most southwestern border point.
My Dad as a teenager lived there in the 30s and he did say that the stream was cold. He mentioned that there was a spring on the estate where he would get up early and take a really cold swim. They would leave the dorey at Dolores landing and walk about half an hour to get to the settlement where his dad was overseer of the estate... for the English owner... I presume... Albert Williams
It was a great experience visiting the community. Was a long walk to get there no access to vehicle so we leave our truck at Otoxha village then walk to Dolores. Very nice people out there.
