Coniophanes imperialis, a common snake
The small *Coniophanes imperialis* is definitely the most frequently encountered snake in my Belmopan garden. Sometimes one takes a wrong turn and enters the house, but its a harmless little animal and easily evicted. They get to about 12-18 inches long.
They eat frogs, lizards, small rodents, and smaller snakes, and are commonly called Black Striped Snakes.
