A long time ago in a very strange place....
Jim Wades Celebration of Life at Cholos in San Pedro, 2002

Jim Wade lived on Ambergris Caye for 30 years. 10 years as an American expatriot and 20 years as a Belizean. Jim past away while working on a pier up the coast. We miss him dearly.

In the top photo are Freddy Waight, Ana Hanna, Peggy Jim Wade sister, and Trish Carter. Clarence (Capricorn) is over Freddie's shoulder and extreme left Tom Harding, Tex, and Carol Thorpe.

Trish Meyercord: at Jim’s going away. He wanted to be put in a boat - lit and pushed offshore. He washed back up the next day.

Karen Waight Canul: Jim’s send off was why my dad asked to be set to sail in a north wind. Jim’s canoe was lighted and the breeze and waves brought it back to shore. They were all too much crazy ... actually forever young souls.

Francis Paul Ripp: I remember Jim's zoo and the BBQ where the pig ran off.

Judy Mernitz: I recall there were a few "hiccups" in that Viking funeral! I remember sitting “shiva” at B.C’s while A.T. and crew tried to get the vessel set on fire! Think Carol Cantrell called me the next morning to say Jim decided not to leave; the boat washed up on their beach up North.
