A dolphin escorting us up the Belize River
Percival Thompson: Dolphins aka pampas used to regularly follow fish that come upstream to spawn. They go beyond Boom as far as Double Run and maybe farther.
Luz Hunter:
This dolphin is well known in this section of the Belize River from Haulover Bridge to the Burrell Boom Bridge. He is a Bottlenose Dolphin and moves in and out of the river fairy regularly. Heis very good at aerobatics, lol. As a side note, salt water can reach as far as 17 miles upstream on the high tide.
