Amanita muscaria mushrooms
On a recent trip to 1000 Foot Falls, in the Mountain Pine Ridge area, I saw these mushrooms. They’re beautiful.
Amanita muscaria, properly prepared, they are eaten as food by many cultures, must be handled with care. They are highly hallucinogenic and dangerous to experiment with. It has been used by Shamans worldwide for thousands of years. Not all of Amanita mushrooms are poisonous, but the Death Cap is in the same genus and accounts for most of the deaths from eating unknown mushrooms (yes, some do do that). Highly poisonous.
