 
After one successful barbecue fund raising organized by the Lions, doctors and students of St. Matthews University, another fundraising drive is being held this Saturday, October 3rd, at the Rasta Pasta Restaurant. Barbecues with special trimmings are being sold at $20.00 and funds will go to the Ambergris Caye Emergency Service (A.C.E.S.). All friends and concerned supporters of A.C.E.S. are asked to come and to bring along a friend to this worthy cause. Be a part of this great organization that is offering volunteer aid to Ambergris Caye. One of the aims of A.C.E.S. is to construct professional spine boards, which are used to transport victims. Equipment and supplies for the teaching of emergency services will also be purchased. A.C.E.S. hopes to train as many persons as possible in CPR, oxygen and pharmaceutical therapy, trauma and cardiac life support. Everyone in San Pedro is asked to take advantage of these invaluable services. Start now by supporting the fundraising efforts. Remember the Rasta Pasta this Saturday, where talented musicians will provide free entertainment as you enjoy your dinner, great friends and the spirit of A.C.E.S. Be there! Don't you dare forget. A.C.E.S. conducted a CPR training session for the upper level students of the Island Academy on September 29th. Steve Hammer, Barbara Hammer and Dan Morris were present to teach the students basic CPR techniques. They will be certified if they pass the test at the end of the session. The students were very responsive and surprisingly knew a lot about the technique, Steve Hammer was impressed. A.C.E.S. will also be holding CPR classes at the San Pedro High School. They plan to open a health club at the high school in order to increase awareness and certification of properly trained students.
