Like I said, if your stuff is so important to you that you would risk your life for it that is your prerogative - but it would be irresponsible to urge people to stay on the island so that they can protect their TV. A huge number of homes on the island would not be considered "hurricane proof" by any stretch of the imagination.

During Keith people in one storey homes had to make the treacherous climb up a rope that was stretch a hundred feet that led up to a 2 storey home because their home and the surroundings was many feet under water. In the water there was all kinds of debris that let deep cuts in their bodies. There were children and older folks involved - it was frightening, dangerous and needs to serve as a reminder that it is not too early to plan and prepare for disasters.
