I need papers from the agulculture dept to get the permits to bring in my 3 small yorkshire terriers. I have tried to contact the ag. dept and I get no response. Does anyone have the papers to import the dogs? Thanks Ruby M. Wood

Ruby,
OK, see if youcan get someone in San Pedro to go to the agriculture office (next to the customs office) in San Pedro (white corner bldg, just down from the Travel agency), and fill out the paperwork there for you. It cost $10 BZ per animal. They will fax paperwork over to the airport for your arrival. That's the easiest way. If my husband was there now, I'd get him to do it, but he is still in the States.
Have you checked with the airlines yet about allowing 3 animals on the same flight? I've been told the max is 2 (for in-cabin-- and I'd think with yorkie's, you'd want them up front).
Good luck!!
Cheerz,
Vicki

make sure everything is stamped correctly on the Belize side and do check on the no. of dogs you can bring.good luck.

Hi Rick and Cheri,

I realize you guys may not want a car in Belize, as you'll be living on Ambergris, but you know, the drive is beautiful, and it really only takes 3 days from the American border. We took our two dogs and two cats, and actually found several hotels that would take us with the pets (it helped that it seemed to be off-season). We drove with them both there and back, and had no problems whatsoever. The only grief is all the paperwork you have to do for the vehicle at the borders.

I know our one dog would not be happy with the plane travel, as she has enough issues with separation anxiety already.

Just a thought, and hope you have a good trip whichever way you can get things to work.
